I should note that I did not make this art. It was provided by Rick Davidson for the course. Pretty fun stuff though. GameDev.TV provides a mini Voxel course that I’ll take later.

Particle Systems in Effect

I’ve added some bullets using the Synty Studios Particle Pack featuring FX_Gunshot_Heavy_Repeating_Tracers_Impact_01. Here are the adjustments I made to create the effect you see in the video.

Size over lifetime adjusted of the smoke particles.

The following adjustments were made to the sub-object FX_Gunshot_Tracer_MachineGun_01.

Tracer 3D start size adjusted to (0.5, 4, 0.5).
Angle reduced to 2, x-scale reduced to 0.2
The tracer rounds were not becoming visible fast enough. This adjustment took care of that.

The following changes were made to the sub-object FX_Gunshot_Heavy_Repeating_Flash_01.

3D Start Size is 3x bigger: (12, 12, 9)
