As you know, I’m working through the Complete C# Unity Game Developer 3D course and I’m getting ready to rock the Timeline videos here but want to showcase the level that I redesigned after seeing Rick’s work in 112 and 113. Alicia and the girls all tried out the previous level and they all commented that the enemies just blend in to the background. I agreed so when I redesigned this level I started by flattening out the terrain and then using rock 5 to paint the level, giving it a light grey “moon rock” type look. I used rock 3 to paint the paths after I smoothed them out and alien skin 1 and 2 both still get a spot.
The asset packs you see are from Synty POLYGON Space and Slava Z Vehicle Constructor. I picked up both of those on sale. I love picking up inexpensive asset packs, makes me feel like I’m playing with LEGO again. You’ll notice that I used the big POLYGON spaceships and the space station to be my habitats. I feel quite proud of myself repurposing them in this way because I sometimes fail to see that kind of thing. While I was every kid kit bashing LEGO growing up, I have more difficulty now that I’m older building from inspiration. So this was a cool leap for me.
